Ladyfish are named after ladies who are delicate, small and slender. Also known as Elops Saurus ladyfish get to be up to 8 lbs. with the Florida record being 6.4 lbs. caught in cocoa beach, FL. They look like a small Tarpon so many call them the Poor Man’s Tarpon. They also fight like tarpon so we like to hook them and enjoy the fun.

These flatfish spend most of their life swimming along the bottoms on their left side. Adults have both of their eyes on the top side of the body. They are usually as wide as they are long.

Day Dreamer Fishing offers fishing gear rentals with all necessary equipment you need to catch all of the species of fish off the beach or pier in Naples, Florida. Our fishing poles are all light spinning rods with braided line. Poles come strung up with flora carbon leader with a size 1 circle hook. Cast nets, bait buckets and fully stocked tackle boxes are also available for rent.
