  1. Mangrove Snapper Fishing In Florida

Mangrove Snapper in the Naples Area is very popular.  They are also known as gray snapper… Lutjjanus Griseus. Mangrove snappers are both inshore in an around mangrove trees and are found at underwater structures and offshore around wrecks and ledges. They grow up in the mangroves and estuaries then travel offshore where we usually find them about 24” long.   I have personally almost had my finger bitten off by a mangrove snapper so I am very careful when bringing them on the boat.

  2. Florida Yellowtail Snapper Fishing Charters

The Yellowtail Snapper is a member of snapper family Ocyurns Chrysurus and are very pretty fish so it is commonly spotted.   They will get to 10 lbs. with Florida record being 8.9 lbs. caught in Ft. Myers FL on 9-13-96.  We fish with bottom rigs with live and cut bait, a light line 15-20 lb. fluorocarbon leader. We catch them mostly in the rear of the boat with a large mesh bag of chum as an attractor.  You can add other things to the chum to sweeten the deal like rolled oats and stone bits.

  3. Cubera Snapper Fishing In Naples, Florida

Cubera snapper also called Lutjanus Cyanopterus can get over120lbs. The FL record is 116 lbs. caught in Clearwater FL.  These fish are also called blue-fin around our area because they have a slight blue tinge on their fins.  They also have jutting canine teeth that can look very menacing.

  4. Red Snapper Fishing In Naples, Florida

We have to go out about 100 miles offshore to get red snapper, but boy are they worth it. Also known as Lutjanus Campechanus, we can fish for them the end of May through the middle of July with 2 per angler per day.  Red snapper is the Gulf’s signature fish and very popular in restaurants and seafood markets.    They can grow up to 40 inches, weigh up to 50 lbs and live up to 50 years.  The record is 46 lbs caught in Destin FL.

  5. Lane Snapper Fishing In Naples, Florida

Some of our client’s have never heard of Lane Snapper.  They are native to the Atlantic Ocean and are the most Common of the Snapper Family. Known as Lutjanus Synagris, lane snapper get to 8 lbs. with the Florida record being only is 6.6 lbs. caught in Pensacola FL. The official Louisiana record is much larger, a 12.08-pound taken from Ship Shoal Blocks in 2009.  They are found in water 50-100 ft. deep over hard bottoms and reefs.

  6. Hogfish Fishing In Naples, Florida

We fish and catch Hogfish in the Naples area. Hogfish are being known as Hog Snapper or  Lachnolaimus Maximus hogs get to 20 lbs. with the Florida record of 19.8 lbs. that was caught in Daytona on 4-28-62.  Hogfish have a pig like snout, via the name “hogfish “so they can easily feed on the bottom and root in sediment.  They are commonly caught on a 20 lb. braid and 20-30 lb.
