  1. Goliath Grouper Fishing In Florida

    Goliath Grouper in the Naples area are the largest of grouper family, also known as Epinephelus Itajara, or Jewfish, goliaths are on endangered species so they are not fishable. Due to overfishing, in 1990 they prohibited the harvesting and possession of these fish.  They can get to 800 lbs. with the Florida record being 680 lbs. caught on 5-20-61 in Fernandina Beach FL. On my boat we caught one weighing in at about 400 lbs. all catch and release.

  2. Florida Gag Grouper Fishing Charters

    Gag Grouper in the Naples area one of the largest members of grouper family.  They are gray or brown with wavy marking on their sides and don’t form circles or boxes which is sometimes mistaken for black grouper.  Also known as Mycteroperca Microlepis, gags are caught as close as 100 yards from the beach and up to 30 miles offshore depending what time of year it is thought they move in shore during January thru March.

  3. Red Grouper Fishing Charters In Naples, Florida

    Red Grouper in the Naples area are the most common of the grouper family. They are red with white spots and when stressed can turn all white.  These Epinephelus Morio Juvenile’s remain on inshore waters for 4 to 5 years before going offshore to a hard bottom.  They will get to 50 lbs.’ with the Florida record 42.4 lbs.’ caught in  St Augustine FL. Red grouper  move farther offshore in the summer and will move in near shore ledges and hard bottoms in winter time.
